Introduction
Now That’s What I Call Music! 3, or more commonly known as NOW 3, is the third edition of the Now That’s What I Call Music! album series. It was released in the United Kingdom on August 21, 1984.
The double-album contained thirty-two songs, including seven UK number ones. It spent six weeks at the top of the charts and went on to become the second best-selling album of 1984 behind Michael Jackson’s Thriller.
Included on NOW 3 are two songs which were later inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame: “When Doves Cry” by Prince and “Careless Whisper” by George Michael.

It’s hard to believe that the NOW That’s What I Call Music! 3 album is turning 20 this year. The album was released on July 10, 1995 and features some of the biggest hits of the 90s. Songs like “Wonderwall” by Oasis, “Waterfalls” by TLC, and “Gangsta’s Paradise” by Coolio defined a generation.

Oasis: After the release of NOW 3, Oasis went on to release two more albums, (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? and Be Here Now, before splitting up in 2009. The brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher have since reunited for a number of live performances, but have not released any new music as a group.
TLC: TLC’s next album, FanMail, was released in 1999 and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. The group went on hiatus in 2002 after the death of member Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes in a car accident. The remaining members of TLC, Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas, reunited in 2017 for a joint tour with New Kids On The Block and released a new single, “Way Back.”
Coolio: After the success of “Gangsta’s Paradise,” Coolio went on to release five more albums between 1996 and 2008. He has also appeared in a number of films and television shows over the years, including an episode of Arrested Development in 2006.
